Why should I book through this website?

Booking direct means dealing with us, not a middleman. Date changes, early check-in requests, room preferences — all sorted with one phone call or email. We're as flexible as possible when travel plans change.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is from 2:00pm to 7:00pm. Check-out is by 10:00am. Arriving outside these times? Contact us in advance and we'll arrange it.

Can I book a room for tonight?

Yes. Book online by 6:00pm or phone us by 7:00pm. Bookings for future dates can be made online 24/7.

How far is the beach?

200 metres. A two-minute stroll from your room to Whangārei Harbour, with views across to Mt Manaia.

How far are you from restaurants?

Harbour Keys Cafe & Bar is a five-minute walk up One Tree Point Road — breakfast, dinner and live music. The One Tree Point Store, just up the road, serves great fish and chips. Five minutes by car takes you to the waterfront restaurants at Marsden Cove Marina, and the Porthouse Bar and Eatery in Ruakaka is ten minutes away.

How far are you from the Marsden Yacht Club?

1.5km — a pleasant 15 to 20 minute walk along One Tree Point Road (or along the beach before or after high tide), or two minutes by car. The Marsden Yacht & Boat Club sits at the One Tree Point boat ramp with harbour views, a sheltered deck, and casual guest sign-in.

How far are you from the Marsden Cove Fishing Club?

Five minutes by car. The club is at Marsden Cove Marina and opens Thursday to Saturday from 4:30pm — a great spot for a cold drink after a day on the water.

How far are you from Marsden Cove?

Five minutes by car. Marsden Cove Marina has boat launching, berths, a chandlery, a Four Square, a bakery and waterfront dining.

Where are the nearest shops?

The One Tree Point Store is a short walk away for essentials and takeaways. Five minutes by car, the Marsden Cove shops offer a Four Square, bakery, cafés and a chandlery. For a full supermarket shop, FreshChoice Ruakaka is ten minutes by car, alongside the Ruakaka town shops. Whangārei's big-box retail is 25 minutes away.

Where can I park?

Free on-site parking, right outside your unit. Room for boat trailers by arrangement — just let us know when booking.

Do you have free wifi?

Yes. Free wifi in every room.

What's your cancellation policy?

Cancel at least 48 hours before 2:00pm on your arrival day and there's no charge. Later cancellations incur the first night's accommodation. Group bookings require 14 days' notice. Full details on our Reservation Policies page.

Do you have accessible rooms?

Yes. Our Studio and 1-Bedroom Access Units offer wheelchair access and accessible bathrooms.

Are you family friendly?

Yes, our 1 and 2-Bedroom Family Suites sleep up to six, and cots and highchairs are complimentary — just request them when booking.

Can we get breakfast and dinner?

Yes. A room service breakfast menu delivered to your door, and gourmet heat-and-eat evening meals for nights you'd rather stay in. Local cafés and the Marsden Cove Marina are minutes away.

Do you have a BBQ?

Yes. A complimentary guest BBQ with outdoor seating — perfect after a day out on the water.

Are your rooms non-smoking?

Yes, all units are non-smoking indoors. Outdoor smoking areas are available.

Are you pet friendly?

No. Pets are not permitted in units or on motel grounds.

How far are you from Whangārei and Auckland?

Whangārei is a 25-minute drive. Auckland is around 2 hours north via State Highway 1. Northport, Marsden Point and Ruakaka township are all within 10 minutes. 

What's there to do at One Tree Point?

Plenty, right on the doorstep. Swim and fish in the sheltered harbour waters at One Tree Point, walk the harbour edge with views across to Mt Manaia, or launch the boat at the One Tree Point ramp. Five minutes away, Marsden Cove Marina offers all-tide boat launching, fishing charters, waterfront dining and a marina stroll. Can you host meetings?
